CIRQUE ENVOL "CANADIAN CIRCUS"
CIRQUE ECIRQUE ENVOL
Cirque ENVOL was created from an association between the Cirque Plus Agency and Dmitrii Arnaoutov, the original “Flying Man “ from Cirque Du Soleil. Issued from one of the grandest circus families of Eastern Europe, Dmitrii is not only known as one of the world's top aerial circus performers, but also for the creation of unique and innovative disciplines such as the Da Vinci Ring, the Tria-Peze, the Sphere & Cradle and the Aerial Frame, an extreme routine in which flyers are literally projected without safety straps or nets across a 20 foot span, by two porters standing on skinny towers.
Dmitrii started his illustrious career at the age of 8, joining his family on an adventure that would take him throughout all of Russia and most of Europe.
Dmitrii pursued his studies at the Lunashevski (Theater Arts Institute) University of Moscow, where he graduated with honors with a diploma in show production and artistic direction. Dmitrii was the first Russian circus artist to be inspired by the grace of ballet dancers, which he adapted to circus performance after having spent significant years with world renowned dancers from both the Bolshoy and Kirov ballet companies. Dmitrii is also the recipient of the coveted Znak Potchota (Medal Of Honor) given to him for his contributions to circus arts in the Soviet Union.
Dmitrii first came to North America with Cirque Du Soleil, with who he collaborated for several years, bringing with him his creation the Aerial Straps routine, earning him the name Flying Man. His participation to their projects contributed to their worldwide success, as he introduced a variety of high calibre routines and disciplines featuring some of Russia's top circus performers.
